“ Dr.Abhi – Shake!”
It was a great day for the students of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School ( STD XI) when the very charismatic and young Dr. Abhishek Ratkal, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, MBBS, I.R.S. visited the Institute for an interactive session. Dr. Ratkal was warmly welcomed by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai and was formally introduced to the students by his colleague Mrs. Sujatha, Administrative Officer of Income Tax Dept.
Dr. Ratkal’s presentation on Living a life, less ordinary by opting for Civil Services , was very intriguing. He spoke about the various hurdles one needs to overcome while preparing for the civil services exam and also the long procedure of the multiple rounds involved in the selection procedure. This helped the students to understand the importance and responsibility that the job/post demands and how strongly they feel about it to go through the rigorous and unbiased preparation and selection procedure.
Dr. Ratkal, was keen on interacting with the students and solving their queries. Throwing light on the importance of being aware about unfair practices businessmen indulge in, he spoke about money laundering. With a short clipping from a film on how black money is laundered and directed in proper cash flow to turn it into white money, the students could understand the concept of laundering better. The students got familiar with terms like ‘benami accounts’ etc and it gave them an overview of how people used illegal or unfair means to avoid paying taxes. Dr. Ratkal guided the students to be responsible citizens and to never indulge in such unfair practices. He also encouraged the young minds to enter into civil services as that is truly the most respectful job in the country and it also gives one the power to bring about changes in the system for the betterment of the Nation.
The entire question and answer session was coordinated by the Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai. Dr. Ratkal answered all the queries with ease and enthusiasm.
The students were elated to meet Dr. Abhishek,and were highly inspired by the wonderful personality that he is. A blend of Honesty, integrity and an enthusiastic young blossoming creative mind with a poetic streak! With people like Dr. Ratkal in the services, we know that the nation is in good hands!
