On 20th June 2019, The students of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School (MAHSS) had the privileged to interact with a distinguished personality .Mr Dinar Bhatkar an IITian himself, is the only Goan to be one of the Board members at IIT Bombay. Our Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai, warmly welcomed him and formally introduced him to all the eager students.
Mr.Bhatkar speaking from his personal experience, advised all of us students emphasizing on the need to having a goal and then working diligently to accomplish it. He said it makes sense to further divide our goal into smaller achievable daily targets and in this way we eventually make progress towards accomplishing our final goal. The students listened to him in rapt attention as he spoke on these effective discipline skills which every aspiring youngster must develop to succeed in life.
Failure is evident but learning from our failures is something that we all need to work on said Mr. Bhatkar. He advised us that we must set benchmarks and compete with ourselves to improve our performance day to day basis. Helping us understand this better, he gave us insight with an example, say if a student improves his score by 3% in every test then by end of the year he would definitely boost his score to a desired level. Explaining importance of small improvement on a regular basis to achieve remarkable results later will definitely help us to strive for excellence.
He appreciated the quality of education and facilities provided by school and said that studentsof Aryaans are fortunate to have best faculty and resources all under one roof. Motivating us to do hard work, he said that if we strive meticulously towards our goals for these crucial two years then we will be able to enjoy the fruits for the rest of your life. Such words of encouragement changed our prospective towards our goals and future planning.
Highlighting the importance of cracking National level exams like IIT JEE Advance and AIIMS he said that it changes the life of a person as the amount of value addition in such Institutes is enormous. Scoring 90% marks in boards is not a big deal but to crack these prestigious National level exams, one requires utmost dedication and persistence.
By citing the example of JEE topper Karti Key Gupta he advised us to stay away from all distractions in these two crucial years which will in turn help us to be focused on our goals.
This valuable talk ended with an exciting Question and Answer session which was entirely coordinated by our Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai. The students eagerly asked for tips on time management, scope of various branches and inputs on the life at IIT’s; Mr. Bhatkar answered all their queries with ease and enthusiasm. The interaction was an insightful one, and the students thoroughly enjoyed listening to the experiences of Mr. Bhatkar’s amazingly led life and the advice that he parted with will definitely go a long for everyone who had the privilege to attend the interaction. Niharika Tiwari gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the entire class and expressed her gratitude to VPD Sir for inviting such a great man to the Institute.
