Dr. Kedar Padte visit report
The present is a Present!
It was a great day for the students of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School on 23rd June ‘ 16 when renowned gynaecologist Dr. Kedar Padte visited the Institute for an interactive session. The Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai warmly welcomed his close friend and the affection and mutual respect they have for each other was clearly visible during the session.
“LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Don’t sacrifice it for the past or for the future”, was the very inspiring message Dr. Padte drove home in his excellent lecture. He stressed on how important the present was, how essential it was to feel the moment, to experience it and he revealed it to be the key to his success. An enthusiastic Dr. Kedar, enraptured the Students of STD XI and XII and took them on a rollercoaster of all his memories, his successes and failures. The presentation on quick tips for making life simple and the videos on live operations ( which Dr. Kedar had conducted) of special or rather unusual cases were nothing less than thrilling , intimidating and mind boggling ! His near – impossible successes and the footage of a laproscopic surgery held everyone in rapt attention and his humbleness despite his achievements inspired awe in the minds of the students.
He stated that it wasn’t his success, but his failures that pushed him forward to strive and endeavour. The blessings and best wishes of thankfulness one gets after treating a patient is the best earning one can get in life, said the Noble Doc. Highlighting the essence of life, Dr. Kedar told the aspirants to always be humble and polite while dealing with a patient irrespective of how grave or minor is the ailment. A doctor with a positive attitude helps the patient to trust him better which in turn aids in the process of healing. He spoke about the emotional connect he shares with his patients and his belief that there always is an alternative. He told the students to do what they loved and to do it with all effort, ensuring them that the spiritual currency they earn will be more than money could ever buy.
Dr. Kedar stressed on the importance of having a good vegetarian diet which is wholesome in nature and to exercise regularly to stay physically, mentally and emotionally fit. Throwing light on a very important aspect in a student’s life , he told the students to study not for the marks but beyond the book, stating that learning is an endless process and knowledge being yet to be perfected.
The lecture ended with the question and answer session which was coordinated entirely by the Director. Dr. Kedar answered all the queries enthusiastically.
In the beginning of the talk, Dr. Kedar addressed the students as “Good Morning Future”. And by the end of it I am sure the students took back the realisation and importance of those words.
