Mr.Shekhar Sardessai, Managing Director, Kineco Kaman Composites Pvt. Ltd, visited Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School on 8th June,2016 for an interactive session with the students of STD XI and XII. The Director, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai warmly welcomed Mr. Sardessai before the session was kick started.
Mr. Sardessai, with his several years of professional executive experience in Engineering and Manufacturing companies truly mesmerized the young minds with his positive exuberance. Spell bound was the crowd when he revealed his life story of how he decided to quit his job at the peak of his career when he was just in his late twenties and ventured into his own start up company. The rise of Kineco Kaman was no smooth ride for him, he said. Running through a video and a presentation, helped the students understand more about his journey and the company as a whole, its various client base and the knitty gritties of actually making the composite products.
As revealed by Mr. Sardessai, his company provides composite components and structures for technologically demanding markets across the world viz Aerospace, Defence, Mass Transit and Telecom. Speaking particularly of Goa, Kineco Kaman has 3 manufacturing plants located with over 300 people working for it.
Mr. Sardessai, speaking about his inspiring journey, said that it was not a tough call to take the decision to become an Entrepreneur, the struggle was to breathe life into his passions and to hold ground and stand tall in the mount of adversity. Which he did and did quiet well. A standing role model of vision and integrity that he is, Mr. Sardessai gave a life lesson to the students when he said that in life one must never compromise on ones integrity. Because he believes that what goes around comes around. If one is really focussed, and not bogged down by peer or societal pressure, then there is no looking back. He also threw light on the universal truth that one must pursue only what he/ she loves to do, because only then will you be able to give your best.
Mr. Sardessai caught the students in rapt attention when he spoke about difficulties in maintaining precision, perfection and quality in his products as they are reliable and accounted for the performance of products. Like for example in the field of Aerospace, it involves the risk of lives of many and hence there is no compromise on the quality of the product delivered. Mr. Sardessai explicitly said that the product they make is either perfect in terms of quality and precision or its a waste. They don’t hesitate one bit to go through the process again to make sure that it meets the standards. Mr. Sardessai also mentioned the meticulous maintenance of all the documentation carried out in the making of the product. All records are properly maintained for further reference and improvisation as and when required.
The students were numb in awe of Mr. Sardessai as he went through his presentation and spoke about his journey, which was followed by the much awaited Question and Answer session. The entire session was coordinated by the Director, Mr. Prabhudesai. The students asked questions ranging from the future goals of Kineco to the difficulties Mr. Sardessai faced to hold his integrity in this muck stained era and also were curious to know the secret of his highly motivated and assertive persona. Mr. Sardessai answered all the queires enthusiastically and the session was concluded with a vote of thanks to the very enthralling Mr. Shekhar Sardessai motivated the students to follow their dreams with passion!!
