On the 18th of November the Aryaan students had the pleasure of hearing Mr Sachin
Sadekar and Mr Kiran Lonikar two prominent personalities in the engineering field. The
session commenced with a warm welcome and introduction to the guests by Sir VPD.
Mr. Sadekar kicked off the session by reminiscing his journey, reflecting on his
memorable days at IIT Bombay, and outlining his professional trajectory from then on.
His career spanned significant roles at Infosys, Nutech, Wipro, and Cognizant, where he
managed operations for prominent consumer brands, impacting the retail as well as the
CPG industries. From there he Transitioned to Cognizant, he highlighted the shift in
focus towards life sciences and its positive impact on improving the quality of life of
individuals.
In 2020, Mr. Sadekar moved to Integrichain, emphasizing the company’s mission to
address revenue leakage in the pharmaceutical industry amongst intermediaries like
brokers, insurance companies etc. through cutting-edge technology like machine
learning and data science, prioritizing data encryption for patient security.
The discussion shifted to the benefits of joining prestigious institutes like IITs, exploring
research opportunities, placements, alumni networks, soft skill development, and even
addressing the challenges of ragging incidents. Mr. Sadekar encouraged perseverance,
emphasizing that not entering these institutes is not the end of one’s aspirations and we
must continue to work towards our goals with our head held high.
Mr. Kiran then shared his journey transitioning from aerospace to computer science,
discussing projects on digital signaling and the potential job opportunities for
mechanical engineering in the tech sector.
Their experiences, career transitions, and versatile skill sets were presented as an
inspiration for students to embrace diverse opportunities with enthusiasm and
resilience.
The gratitude was extended once more to Mr. Sachin and Mr. Kiran for sharing their
wisdom, insights, and experiences. Recognition was given to Sir VPD for organizing
such motivational sessions with top personalities like them.
In conclusion, the session was a valuable learning experience, offering a broader
perspective on career choices and embracing opportunities. The evening concluded
