The Little Thing That Makes A Big Difference – ATTITUDE!

Mr. Santosh Kenkre , a well established Chartered Accountant from Panjim with a three decades of experience in his field, visited Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School on the 30th June ’16 for an interactive session with the students of STD XI(Science).

The students were elated to hear the prospects and opportunities available for them in the non science background also. Mr. Kenkre , who is on the “ ease of doing business ” of the Confederation of the Indian Industry spoke about the skills one requires to excel in the Corporate world. The success of a company lies in the abundance of Profit and the quality of the product it sells, he said. Highlighting the importance of communication, he said that one must be aware that the corporate world is full of competition and people will try to pull you down. But if one is able to build a bond with colleagues, then he or she will be able to hold a strong ground and work effectively. Soft skills are very important in order to get along with everybody.

Quoting true examples from the lives of Real Successful Heroes, Mr.Kenkre said that it was FOCUS and focus throughout, which got Bill Gates and Warren Buffet to where they are today. He advised the students to have a healthy diet and exercise regularly to develop a strong immune system. He guided the students to have an open and objective mind to help them incorporate and understand other view points which in turn will give them a wider perspective of things. Further speaking on the qualities and criteria required to be successful in life, Mr. Kenkre told the students that they must have a hunger for knowledge and be energetic as it were these qualities which got a boy selling newspapers to being the “BULL” of the stock markets and a “Chai Waala” to being the Prime Minister of the country…

Mr. Kenkre, spoke relevantly on issues faced by students of this age by highlighting the importance to have a right outlook towards criticism. He said that one must invite criticism as it will help one to analyse and help in performing better. Further speaking of the corporate world, he informed the students that in the competitive world , one must be strong and positive as the success of an employee is measured by the results generated by him or her by innovating new products and services and all at a lesser cost..

The talk was concluded with the question and answer session which was entirely coordinated by the Director of the Institution, Mr. Vyankatesh Prabhudesai. Mr. Kenkre answered all the queries enthusiastically and advised the students to be a ‘Complimentor in life rather than being a complainer’.

The students were very happy to receive such valuable advice and were happy to have a different perspective from someone who is not from the Science field. It helped to open a new arena for the young minds which they could consider in years to come..
