This enlightening session on the 23rd of September, on stress management, led by
Commander VK Jaitley, came to an end with our sincere appreciation to Commander
VK Jaitley for sharing his expertise on the critical topic of stress management. His
presentation provided us with valuable insights and strategies to navigate the
challenges of modern life while maintaining our mental and emotional well-being.
Managing stress and not trying to eliminate it is the key. Yes, I can, you can and we can
should be the motto of one’s life which was very well demonstrated through the video on
the Rio Paralympics. Sir explained the causes of stress and how it is due to the
perception of one’s mind. Stress brings about anxiety, stress, anger, etc which leads to
physiological stress such as acidity ulcers diabetes, and even fatal ailments like cancer.
This also weakens one’s mind producing internal toxins, which are far more harmful
than external chemical toxins or pollutants Sir, also explained the chain reaction of
stress which is also known as the Negative Spiral which all begins when the mind
perceives a threat. Therefore We should make all efforts to manage our stress.
Managing our stress is set about by controlling the monster sitting inside our minds.
One of the ancient methods to rejuvenate oneself is Yoga, as SIr emphasized on. Yoga
and meditation build the capability to face stressful situations and reduce the impact of
stress at the physiological level. Sir demonstrated the principle techniques of Pranayam,
namely Bhrastika Kapal bhati, alom anuvilom and bhramari. Meditation takes the brain
to an Alpha state. Sir demonstrated and assisted us in a divine state of meditation and
relaxation. The power of a positive attitude gives rise to positive thoughts, actions, and
habits. Waking up with a smile and being affirmative and enthusiastic is the path to
positivity. Sir explained the chain reaction of managing stress which is the positive
spiral.
Sirs mantra to be successful is to convert the vicious cycle of life to the virtuous cycle of
life, so very true! The vicious cycle starts when people spend half of their life making
money and lose health in that process and in the remaining half, people spend that
money trying to regain health. To make it a virtuous cycle, it is crucial to pursue health
and knowledge, and money and fame will follow as a byproduct and also stressed on
the importance of giving back to society as well. Sir nurtured the life-changing, valuable
15-point formula for managing stress too.
With the valuable insights and strategies we acquired, we are better equipped to face
life’s challenges with strength and a sense of inner peace.
We ended with expressing our heartfelt thanks on behalf of the students of Mushtifund
Aryaans Higher Secondary, to our esteemed Commander VK Jaitly sir, as well as,
towards Sir VPD for inviting such an illustrious personality.
