On 15th of December, 2021,yet again all the Aryaanites enjoyed the time of their lives as we heard SirKapil Pause, only Goan so far to represent India in International Math Olympiad who shared his wisdom and experience on behalf of our director VPD and the entire family of MAHSS

First, he started off by telling us about his love for math, which he said was ignited when he could not solve an RMO problem which were more of trivial puzzles

Then he continued to tell us about IMO which was very different from JEE and was the highest exam for math

Further he explained us the various rounds which progressed from Regional to International level

The interesting fact was that in IMO there are only 6 problems to be solved in 4 hours. IMO again gave 6 problems again to be solved over a span of 2 days with 3-4 hours given for 2-4 problems in a day he had also given us a few sample problems and illustrated the Math Olympiads- which had, relatively simple and logical question which looked quite trivial.

Further he also told us that pure math was like art which can be understood only by people who loved math and the syllabus of the top two mathematical institutes of India, about admission to CMI students who had toeither answer an entrance or they had to prove their excellence in the INMO from which top 60 people and top 30 peoplegot full scholarship.

Next, he told us about how his preparation for IMO, where he noted that about top 30 – 40 students were selected after which they were trained at the HBCSE Homi Bhabha Centre for Science, and at the end of the training there was a test in which 6 students are selected and given Pre-IMO training. Subsequently he told us about his experience at Hong Kong in IMO where he scored 24/42 and was placed at 97/600 which gives one the perspective of the difficulty of this test.

Further we proceeded to the question answer session which left us all satisfied as all our doubt were cleared. Sir VPD, all the staff and students really enjoyed the session, the time flew by asbefore we came to notice it.
