On Friday, 26th May, the Aryaans pupils had the privilege of attending an online interactive session with Dr. Jayashree, an esteemed molecular biologist and the Associate Director at Novartis, Hyderabad. With her extensive knowledge and experience in the field, she provided us with invaluable insights into the intricate world of drug discovery and development.
Dr. Jayashree began the session by introducing us to the drug discovery process, emphasizing the complexity and challenges involved in bringing a drug to market. She explained how the process starts with the identification of a potential drug target, followed by extensive research and screening to find a suitable molecule for further development. This funnel-like approach highlighted the rigorous nature of drug discovery and the careful selection required to advance a compound to the next stage.
