ON the morning of 21st august we the students of Mushtifund Aryaans had the opportunity to interact with a brilliant IRS officer ,Ms Sheila Sangwan. Ms Sheila Sangwan who previously withheld the post of Director of customs and Excise and is a former secretary of finance, interacted gracefully about the various experiences she encountered during her tenure of precisely 38 years in the field of civil services. She began with briefing us about the prestigious civil services examination – UPSC.She mentioned that to get through UPSC one must not necessarily go through rigorous coaching but must put in sincere efforts in learning their respective fields. She very firmly emphasized on the importance of having an alert mind as she was directed on her first posting at Baroda  to always read the rule position before signing any important document. Even after having difficult living and working conditions, Ms Sheila stayed strong and worked very hard in all the circumstances, be it catching drug peddlers after never ending investigation or ensuring fair play in the political system. She even recollected some instances of recovering illegal gold from accused which also highlighted the sad truth of Indian corruption. We all learnt a lesson from her experiences of valour and yet dealing everything with dignity and diplomacy. Her dedicated presence in her work field ensured no foul play .She laid stress on how she didn’t allow any malpractices under her supervision. Another important learning was that Money can buy the thrilling of high society but it can’t buy character, integrity, morals and values. Only by contributing with sincerity to your job will you gain respect. She left no stone unturned by answering the questions of students and our director sir Vyankatesh Prabhudesai, who generously  invites brilliant personalities from varied fields to keep us motivated throughout .To conclude we learnt the value that TO GIVE REAL SERVICE YOU MUST ADD SOMETHING THAT CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR MEASURED AND THAT IS INTEGRITY , DEDICATION AND SINCERITY.
